On April 22-27, 2019, experts were dispatched to Nepal for local advice and center construction advice as part of the "Project for Integrated Rural Development of Nepal thorugh Strengthening R&D Capacity of Kathmandu University".
The STEPI-CBNU Consortium (hereinafter referred to as the "Consortium") conducted a 'Field Visit for Local Consultancy and Education Phase 1' from April 22nd to 27th, 2019 and conducted a workshop on Regional Innovation (RIS) and Operational Program at the Doolickel campus of Kathmandu University on April 24th.
Professor of Kathmandu University and the head of the administrative team of the Nepal Technology Innovation Center (NTIC) attended the workshop. Dr. Song Chi-woong, the head of the Global Innovation Strategy Research Team, presented about "regional innovation policy and system," while Dr. Sun In-kyung, an associate researcher, introduced the "operation program."
Dr. Song Chi-woong shared the Korea's history of regional present policy and regional innovation centers, and emphasized its implications to NTIC. Dr. Sun In-kyung had time to introduce the case of the test certification service program, BRIC, and RCBROM, the school enterprise system of Wonkwang University and Daegu Oriental University, and the smart health technology program.
In addition, during the visit, STEPI had a meeting with KOICA Nepal office, the Embassy of the RoK in Nepal, and the KOICA-IRDP Steering Committee. STEPI and the Kathmandu University also discussed on the legal framework and operational management of NTIC.
