Highlights: Field-visit to AFRICA!

IICC is carrying out a KSP(Knowledge Sharing Program) project which is supported by KDI for El Salvador.
The KSP research team implemented High-Level Demand Survey and Pilot Study in San Salvador; the capital city of El Salvador from 10th to 18th January. This KSP research project aims to establish and promote innovation policy and ecosystem at the national and industrial level and is led by the Project Manager, Dr. Wangdong Kim from STEPI-IICC. Dr. Chiung Song from STEPI-IICC is also involved in the project and he is leading research in one of the three industrial sectors.

During the visit, the research team conducted interviews with policy specialists and various related stakeholders through which it was able to identify El Salvador's current status. The team also requested statistics and relevant information that are necessary for research project. Ministry of Economy (El Salvador) which is the counterpart fully agreed with the team's suggestion on research theme and scope; moreover H.E. Tharsis Lopez, Minister of Economy and H.E. Byung Sup Kim, Ambassador of Korea to El Salvador offered their full support so that the project would be successfully implemented.

Since El Salvador is selected as a new partner country for KSP project, both Salvadoran government and KDI, the supervising organization of KSP projects have high expectations on the project itself as well as on the STEPI research team.
