The donation was made possible by collaboration of two Institutes, STEPI and KEI. Acknowledging the importance of IT equipment for facilitating teaching and learning process, STEPI sought for potential donators. It was KEI who expressed its willingness to offer its computer assets for a meaningful purpose. At the donation ceremony, President Jong Guk Song expressed gratitude to KEI. He added that STEPI will continue to cooperate with its domestic and worldwide partners to strengthen STI capacity in developing countries and achieve shared prosperity.

The donation was initiated by the request from the Ministry of Education (MOE) of Ethiopia. The MOE requested to support IT-based education and research by providing computers to Ethiopia’s learning institutions. Ethiopia has given due attention for “Quality Education for All” and STEPI-MOE cooperation is expected to help achieve the motto.

The donated computers will be ready to ship by the end of February, after checking hardware conditions and installing new software. It is more than just donating computers but sharing technology, untapping the potential of students and laying the ground work for better future.
